"The gong is the first and last instrument for the human mind ... It is the basic creative sound. To the mind, the sound of the gong is like a mother and father that gave it birth. The mind has no power to resist a gong that is well played" - Yogi Bhajan

We will fill up the 4pm sound bath first and if, as we did last time, we have enough people on a waiting list we will run a second session starting at 1pm.
You will be bathed in the calming sound from gongs, singing and crystal bowls and other instruments, creating a relaxing, deeply meditative and healing space.
I am pleased to offer this unique experience. So many people live their lives at an exhausting pace causing stress and unease. These events will be a time to relax and unwind and let the sounds transport you into a special place of relaxation which can help to balance the mind, body and spirit.
Testimonials can be found below from people that have experience these evenings and see the "In the Press" page for an article in the November 2012 edition of Chesham Town Talk on the writers experience of my sound evening.

Testimonials for Group Gong Baths
Thanks for a marvelous experience last night. I feel utterly uplifted today.
Bill, Kimpton
Such a deeply relaxing experience, just what I needed yesterday - love it - thanks. It was very professionally and sympathetically done.
Jan, Watford
The information you gave out, both written and verbally and the way in which you conducted the whole evening was very professional but caring at the same time. The space at the Steiner School felt warm and welcoming and of course your gongs/sounds were quite beautiful.
Sally, St Albans
Over the weekend I (and others) had the opportunity to be blessed with Georgina and her gong. This sound healing that she offers is beautiful and I and others were deeply moved by the gong bath that she gave in my home. If you are thinking of experiencing this, either individually, booking her for a session with a group or at one of her group sound evenings, I want to say , ''don't hesitate" I am sure that you will be really touched by this amazing experience. Thank you Georgina.

Why is the gong so special?
The gong is one of the oldest forms of sound and is used across the world in ceremonies and rituals - births, deaths, marriages and initiations - and, of course, for healing and relaxation.
The sound of the gong is unique. It can challenge us to experience sound in a new way. The sound the gong makes is complex, with a blend of notes and overtones that are unpredictable to the listener. This unique sound is difficult to categorise and follow (unlike popular music) encouraging the listener to let go, release the mind chatter, and be bathed in sound.
Benefits of a gong bath
The listener can experience the gong on many levels - physically, emotionally and spiritually - for healing and relaxation. The sound of the gong can stimulate your body's natural healing mechanisms by boosting the immune system to help you manage pain, reduce stress, improve your sleep, aid relaxation, lift your mood and bring you back into harmony and balance.
What will you experience?
Each person is unique and will experience the sound of the gong in a different way. You may feel deep relaxation, even fall asleep, or you may feel your body tingle, twitch, heat up or cool down as it releases blocked energy. Some people see images and colours and some feel emotional. All feelings and experiences are welcome, as whatever your experience will be right for you. Even the sound of snoring is welcome as another sound in the room! If you don't feel anything, that is ok too.
From my experience the first gong bath is a learning experience as it is like nothing you will have experienced before. Your mind may chatter: How does it feel for me? What do I experience? What's the format for the evening? My clients have reported that they relax even further the second time they experience a gong bath.
What to bring?
A gong bath will last around 60 mins so you will need to be comfortable and I suggest that you bring the following:
- Something to lie on and support for your head. You will be lying down for a long time so it's good to be as comfortable as possible. Something padded to lie on and a pillow to support your head.
- Blankets for warmth. The body's temperature can drop when lying still for a long time so please ensure that you stay warm. When I experience a gong bath I use my sleeping bag for warmth.
- Something to cover your eyes (optional).
- Water. The body release toxins during healing so please bring water to keep you hydrated.
After a gong bath
When you get home you should drink plenty of water. This helps the body to release toxins. Most people feel deeply relaxed after a gong bath. It is not good to do a long drive or go to work after a gong bath.
There can be a three day adjustment period after a gong bath. Your body will be healing itself and you may feel aches and pains as the body integrates the healing that it has received. Sometimes old symptoms may return for a while before disappearing altogether.
IMPORTANT
Please note that a sound bath is not suitable for those in their first trimester nor for those with a pacemaker fitted.
